[Crassula ovata, commonly known as jade plant, is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers that is native to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa, and Mozambique. Much of its popularity stems from the low levels of care needed; the jade plant requires little water and can survive in most indoor conditions. With their thick, woody stems and oval-shaped leaves, jade plants have a miniature, tree-like appearance that makes them very appealing for use as a decorative houseplant. They live for a very long time, often being passed down from generation to generation and reaching heights of three feet or more when grown indoors.]

I used to think that life was a checklist to get to “fulfillment”.
You know... go to college for something you’re good at, get the degree, score a solid job, make money, get married, have a family...the end.
I followed the path, was at the top of my career, and was doing everything I thought you had to do to feel fulfilled. But, when I got everything I thought I always wanted, I realized something big.
𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭.
Despite the revelation and my soul 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 at me to take action down a different route...I resisted. Have you been there, too?
“I have a doctorate degree, I’m 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥 to help people, but why can’t I make it work?”
Everyday, I questioned what was wrong with me. I wondered how everyone else had it together but I didn’t?
Shame and guilt plagued me until my pain became greater than my fear of the unknown.
I remember hearing the expression, “Life is a buffet and you can have whatever you want.” I rolled my eyes and thought…”what a joke”...until, I realized, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐩.
𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐩 to stop feeling sorry for myself and to start taking action.
Maybe I didn’t believe quite yet that “I could have whatever I wanted”, but I knew trying was way better than faking my way through life on autopilot.
My mindset shifted from fixed to growth, and I became curious as to how I could step into the highest version of myself.
It wasn’t an overnight process, I stand here now as the proud owner of Amber Connelly Coaching, where it is my mission to help leaders and professionals who feel stuck, like I once did, move forward.

2020 vision has a new meaning to me. I’ve realized that It is so easy to stay motivated when everything is going good. But being able to stay disciplined when things get tough and when everything, literally everything is challenging you...that’s what really matters. ⠀
Wake me up when it’s 2021 though cause I kinda hate it here😩🥺⠀
Happy Friday loves♥️⠀
Finally getting to do aerials outside today!! Ugh I can’t wait for the gym to open back up. But anyways I’ve been focusing on opening up my shoulders during quarantine. They’re always super tight from doing hair half my life and big boobs don’t help so this is the first time I’ve actually been able to feel and see a difference!

balance is not something you find, it’s something you create ✨

If you do not believe you are worthy of setting them. ☝️⠀
Have you ever felt taken advantage of by someone else? Like they benefited from your kind nature? Have you ever made a promise to yourself to start something new, and failed to keep the promise? 😳⠀
If so, you could be struggling with setting and maintaining boundaries. ⠀
Boundaries are measured by self-esteem. They define how far you are willing to go for another person, what your responsibilities are, and how you will tolerate being treated. 🌟⠀
Setting boundaries takes determination, self-awareness, and self-esteem. When you first start setting them, you WILL feel uncomfortable. ⠀
Chances are, the people benefiting from your lack of boundaries will be hurt, angry, or confused. This is why practicing setting boundaries and having a support system is integral to ensure success. 💎 ⠀
