I will 101% take the extra pounds of bf if that means more energy, a social life, work life, health, actual hormones, & some CURVESSS 🍑 . For a lot of my life I have missed out on social events, I avoided any family dinner or date like it was the plague & this was all due having no energy, no time due to all the training, or the severe diet anxiety I would get 😓 . Some of these things are hard to avoid when in a competition prep but it pains me when I have lifestyle clients express very similar things to me... . I’ve started to challenge my clients to ask themselves if being super lean will truly make them happy... I instead try to shift their focus to a SUSTAINABLE diet & workout plan where they can still make progress towards their goals but don’t have to compromise their health and life. . Yes it may take slightly longer to drop those 20 pounds but at least you’ll be feeling great by the end of it and won’t have the desire to “end the diet” and go off the rails & gain it all back. . Instead, let’s build a plan where you can lose those 20 pounds AND keep it off while feeling great 💃🏼 . . First day on my new macro split & first day of my 8 week challenge with Rachel @bodiesbyrachel 🥰 I got a 50cal increase so we’re slowing working our way up! Here’s my food diaries for today! #mindsetmonday Focus on what you can control. Everyday, there are hundreds of things competing for our attention. Where our attention goes our energy follows. As soon as we lose sight of what our focus is, we become distracted. I am not saying you should never be distracted, but I believe it’s important to be aware of the things that are distracting us and draining our energy. If you’re like me, the worst type of distraction, is the one where I have no control over the outcome. These distractions cause stress, angst, and at times hopelessness. Mostly because we can’t give up our want for control. To avoid falling into that spiral of negativity, we have to focus on what WE can do to solve a problem or obtain a goal. The question that keeps me from wasting my energy on these energy sapping distractions is: “Have I done all I can do to solve this problem/obtain this goal” if the answer is an honest yes, then I leave it alone because my part is done. If the answer is a no, I figure out what more I can do, and I determine whether or not I’ll need outside help to get the job done. We can’t spend our energy dwelling on things that are out of our control!
