❰ 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜 ❱ The Holi festival marks the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. This ancient tradition, rooted in Hindu mythology, is a time when social norms are relaxed, and the air is filled with laughter, music, and the scents of spring
#wearewildest
Every March, the festival begins with the lighting of the Holika bonfire, symbolizing the burning away of evil spirits. The following day, during Rangwali Holi, is when the iconic color play takes place. All across India, the air is painted with iconic coloured powders known as gulal.
“There’s a phrase they say here in India during Holi - the Festival of Colours. It’s “Bura na mano, Holi hai” which translates to “don’t be offended, It’s Holi!” It’s a call to have fun, interact with strangers, be present, and not be afraid to get in the thick of it, throwing colours, having water fights and fully immersing yourself because once you’re in, there’s hardly any way out.”
➽ Holi is more than just colors; it’s a time for forgiveness, for mending broken relationships, and for indulging in sweets like gujiya and thandai.
