Check out The Black Curriculum’s reading list, that we have put together for children, young people and adults.
Here at TBC, we understand how important representation is in books as it provides you with a sense of identity and belonging.

At the beginning of February Year 9 students at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School took part in our workshops titled ‘How can poetry be a form of protest?’ They learnt about different forms of protest and how poetry can be used to question, challenge and make change.
This centred on John Agard’s Checking Out Me History a hugely influential poem about the lack of accurate, representative and significant Black histories in the national curriculum. This inspired the students to write their own acrostic poems.
