One month of marriage down! Here are 3 things that surprised me about the first month.
1. I get to have fun with my husband with every mundane task! I love that I get to not only experience the exciting trips with him, but also cooking, cleaning, shopping together.
2. We have such different sleeping schedules! I’m a morning bird, he’s a night owl. (Except when I work my night shift stretch).
3. I’m one month in, and I still say “I can’t believe I’m married to you”. I love that I get to still experience the awe of this sacred union.
Truly, the best proposal ever done by my love. Of course, this is not how I reacted to the proposal. This is after my nervousness, excitement, overreaction kind of leveled itself down. RAW reaction coming soon!!
This love of mine has grown and grown and grown. And when I go to sleep, and think I can’t love this man more. I wake up the next morning, and realize that just like that, overnight, my love has increased.
3 months married (that’s 1/4 of a year!)
Here is what I learned.
1. Life is FUN with your best friend. You get to come home to each other, spend time together, learn more about each other. You know that someone is always waiting for you at home. And that feeling, is priceless.
2. Cooking. It’s a big deal in our everyday lives! I’ve learned, it’s okay to just cook what I “feel” like cooking. My husband leaves the brainstorming to me, which I happen to love. It definitely isn’t as intimidating as I thought it would be, since my husband went to culinary school and all. Left overs are great too. But stepping out of my comfort zones in the kitchen has paid off greatly!
3. Watching each other grow, and mold into each other is one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever experienced. Even getting to know each other on a different level. For example, when my husband says something, I kid you not, I can finish his sentences. It’s pretty hilarious at times.
Overall, I’m extremely excited to see what the future will bring. 3 months ago, seems a lifetime away already. The time flew by so quickly that sometimes I think that it has to be more than 3 months.
There’s something incredibly special about firsts. Embarking a life long journey with a spouse has SO many firsts. I think the realization that so many things we do our first year will end up being traditions we will carry on to our children just makes everything more special.
The most special ornament on our tree this year. It’s made to stand out for a reason🥹🥰.
On a side note, I hand painted every single ornament and I have no regrets. They turned out so beautiful and vibrant. I was a little skeptic on the color scheme. But I’m so happy I went with my gut.
PSA!!
Loving someone and KNOWING they love you back, is one of the greatest gift one can receive on this Earth. I believe it’s one of the greatest gifts Jesus created: to find your person, and live life with them, serving our Lord, until Jesus calls us home.
