We don't know if the universe has a spatial edge or not, the place where space end. The universe could even be infinitely large. We don't know But... The limit of how far we can see depends upon two things 1) Speed of light 2) The age of the universe. Both the things are finite, and because of this we can only see a finite part of the whole universe. The furthest thing that we can see is one of the earliest relics of our universe. That is the cosmic microwave background radiation, this is the very first light emitted by the universe about 13.5 billion years ago. And this CMBR forms a kind of shell around us, and this is the edge of our Universe. We cannot see anything that's beyond this edge, because the light from those objects haven't reached us yet. The Observable Universe is absolutely relative to your position. Move to the left, your observable universe will also move to left. Start traveling at some speed, your observable universe will travel with you. Someone living on the edge of our universe, will see a totally different observable universe, for them we will be on the edge of their universe. Our observable universe is a Sphere centered on the Earth with a radius of 46.5 billion light years. 93 billion light years in diameter. Image 1:- NGC 6441 is a 13-billion-year-old globular cluster located in the southern constellation of Scorpius, located approximately 44,000 light-years from Earth and 13,000 light-years from the Milky Way's center, It is one of the most massive and luminous globular clusters in our Galaxy. "The exact number of stars in such a cluster is difficult to discern," Hubble astronomers said. "It is estimated that together its stars weigh 1.6 million times the mass of the Sun, making NGC 6441 one of the most massive and luminous globular clusters in the Milky Way. Image 2:- A region of the sky called the "Lockman Hole," located in the constellation of Ursa Major, is one of the areas surveyed in infrared light by the Herschel Space Observatory. All of the little dots in this picture are distant galaxies. The pattern of their collective light is what's known as the cosmic infrared background. By studying this pattern, astronomers were able to measure how much dark matter it takes to create a galaxy bursting with young stars. Regions like this one are almost completely devoid of objects in our Milky Way galaxy, making them ideal for astronomers studying galaxies in the distant universe. Black holes are bubbles of light explained. It's a common misconception about black holes that they are like a 2D hole in the space, whereas black holes are infact a 3D, a sphere with such intense gravitational pull that not even light can escape it Video credit:- @scienceclic No copyright intended. 1. Warp Drive:- Is a spacecraft that could achieve apparent faster-than-light travel by contracting space in front of it and expanding space behind it 2. Wormholes:- A hypothetical structure connecting disparate points in spacetime, and is based on a special solution of the Einstein field equations. Wormholes might allow effective superluminal (faster-than-light) travel by ensuring that the speed of light is not exceeded locally at any time 3. Expansion of the universe:- The Space itself is expanding, and that accounts for the overwhelming majority of the redshift we see. And space doesn’t expand at a speed; it expands at a speed-per-unit-distance: a very different kind of rate. When you see numbers like 67 km/s/Mpc or 73 km/s/Mpc. That means everything beyond 18 billion light years away from us is receding faster than the Speed of light 4. Quantum Entanglement:- When two particles are inextricably linked together no matter their separation from one another. Although these entangled particles are not physically connected, they still are able to share information with each other instantaneously Follow:- @_cosmic.physics 🔔TURN ON POST NOTIFICATION . -✔FOLLOW for more... . This is because low-mass stars, stars that are less massive than the sun, are much more common than high-mass stars. So if you've got 20 stars picked randomly 19 will be less massive than the sun, and only one will be more massive. The present “reachability limit” has a boundary ~18 billion light-years away All galaxies closer than that could be reached if we left today; all galaxies beyond that are unreachable. Only 6% of presently observable galaxies remain reachable; 94% already lie beyond our reach.
